The
standard 1" by 1" keeps small to large pinfish, spots, bait crabs, squirrel
fish (sand perch), mutton minnows, silverfish, larger threadfin herring
(sabiki size), medium size finger mullet, large mullet, snapper, trout,
redfish, grouper etc. Fresh water fish would include all species like
bluegill, bass, perch, crappie, catfish, trout, salmon, etc. There are
no maximum size limits on how large or how many fish that you can keep
in these Bait/Fish Holding Pen Cages
as long as they're not longer than the bait/fish cage. These bait/fish
holding cages are very durable unlike the floating net made bait containers
which tear when rubbing against pilings on dock-sides, wear out from normal
use, and simply do not hold up to small sharks, otters, alligators or
even pelicans trying to get a quick meal. If you haven't experienced any
of these problems with the net made bait containers, it isn't a matter
of "if" but simply a matter of "when" that you come in contact with some
